Gaza Works: Removing 80% of the rubble of buildings destroyed by the occupation

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in the Gaza Strip, Naji Sarhan, said today, Wednesday, that 80 percent of the rubble of buildings destroyed by the occupation during the recent aggression on the Strip has been removed.

Sarhan said, during statements to the local Al-Aqsa radio station in Gaza, that the process of removing the rubble will be completed within the next month.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works in Gaza expressed his optimism about the possibility of starting real efforts to return within the next month.

Sarhan indicated that about 900 citizens of the owners of inhabited homes that were demolished by the occupation during the last aggression received cash assistance in the amount of 2000 dollars, in conjunction with UNRWA and (UNDP).

Regarding the rumors regarding the removal of the Al-Jawhara Tower, which includes press offices and was subjected to an Israeli bombardment, Sarhan said that the decision is still under study and no decision has been taken on it.
