Corona vaccines enter Gaza after the occupation allowed them to enter

The first batches of the Coronavirus vaccine arrived today, Wednesday, at the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing.

The "Al-Quds" dot com correspondent in Gaza reported that the competent medical teams transferred the vaccine, as part of medical procedures, to the Ministry's warehouses.

The Minister of Health Dr. Mai Al-Keela announced this Wednesday morning, that the ministry has sent 2000 doses of the Russian Sputnik vaccine from the ministry's warehouses in Ramallah to its warehouse in the Gaza Strip.

Al-Kailah said in a press release, that 2000 doses were transported through the Beitunia crossing this morning, and are heading to the ministry's warehouses in the southern governorates.

She stressed that these doses are intended for medical staff working in intensive care rooms designated for Covid 19 patients, and for staff working in emergency departments.

For his part, Magdy Dahir, Director of Preventive Medicine at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said that 2,000 doses are expected to arrive within hours.

In an interview with Al-Aqsa Radio in Gaza, Dahir explained that the 2000 doses will be distributed to kidney and organ transplant patients.

He pointed out that there is no information about new upcoming payments.

The Israeli political level agreed this morning to introduce the Coronavirus vaccine to the Gaza Strip, days after the ban.

According to the Seventh Hebrew Channel, this morning the process of transferring 1,000 doses of Sputnik vaccine, which Russia donated for the benefit of the Palestinian government, began.

According to the channel, the political leadership agreed to the Palestinian Authority’s request to transfer the vaccine.

She indicated that the process of transporting the vaccine to the Gaza Strip is taking place through the Beit Hanoun "Erez" checkpoint.
