Two Palestinian workers died, and 5 others were wounded, early this morning, Wednesday, as a result of being run over by a bus that was empty of passengers at the northern entrance to Bethlehem (Checkpoint 300), or what is known as a checkpoint. Rachel. "

Local sources said that the deaths belonged to the two young men, Jaafar Omar Abiyat (30 years old) from Bethlehem, and Ziad Abu Freiha Abiyat (29 years), as the latter died of his wounds in an Israeli hospital where he was receiving treatment.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth website, the bus driver who caused the accident fled the scene, while Israeli medical teams transported the injured to Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital, and Shaare Zedek.

The site indicated at the time that the condition of one of the injured was serious (the second factor who died), while the condition of the others was described as moderate, while only one case was reported by the Palestinian Red Crescent.

Later, it was announced that the bus driver had surrendered himself to the Israeli Police, a 47-year-old Palestinian from Jerusalem.

The Unified Lines Company in the south explained that the bus had collided with the workers by mistake, after a technical failure in it.
