Israel begins building the "Trump" settlement in the Golan Heights

Israel began building a new settlement on the Syrian-occupied Syrian Golan Heights, which it named after US President Donald Trump, on Sunday.

"Today we will begin practical steps to build" Ramat Trump "in the Golan Heights," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting.

It is mentioned that "Ramat Trump" in Hebrew means Trump Heights.

The Jerusalem Post reported that the government intends to approve the initial budget of 8 million Israeli shekels (2.3 million dollars) to construct the settlement.

It is expected that 120 Israeli families will live in this settlement.

Israel captured the heights of the Syrian rounds in the 1967 war and annexed them in 1981, in a move that is not recognized by the international community.
