Turkish authorities order the arrest of more than 101 supporters of Gulen

Turkish authorities have ordered the arrest of more than 100 people suspected of being followers of cleric Fathullah Gulen, who Ankara accuses of plowing the country's 2019 coup attempt.

The official Anatolia news agency reported that the suspects were accused of links to the US-based Gulen, blamed by the Turkish government for the failed coup by a military faction.

The raids, which targeted 101 suspected Golen supporters, took place in 18 provinces, and 67 were already missing by midday, the report said, noting that the suspects were present and former soldiers.

Tens of thousands have been arrested or dismissed for suspected links to Gulen since the attempted coup.

Gulen denies the charges against him.
