Disney unveils launch date for new webcasting service

Disney announced the launch of its new Internet content service on Thursday.

The company said in a statement that its new service, which will be called "Disney Plus" will be launched directly in the United States on 12 November and will be available at a monthly cost of $ 6 and 99 cents. Disney plans to move the service to "almost all major areas of the world" over the next two years.

"Disney Plus is a bold step forward in a new and exciting era for our company - an era where consumers will have a direct link to the stunning collection of Walt Disney's creative content," Disney president Bob Eger said on Thursday.

The new service will provide content for Disney and its affiliates such as Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic.

The new service will be a fierce competitor to the giant Netflix, from which Disney will withdraw its content this year to be exclusively available on the Disney Plus network.
