The occupation arrested 486 Palestinians last November

Israeli occupying forces arrested 486 citizens in November, including 65 children and nine women, Palestinian rights sources said.

The Israeli occupation forces arrested 150 Palestinians from the occupied city of Jerusalem, 77 from the city of Hebron and 71 from the city of Ramallah, the family and human rights institutions said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

It added that the occupation arrested 36 Palestinians from Nablus city, 34 from Bethlehem, 32 from Tulkarm, 28 from Jenin, 23 from Qalqilya, 12 from Tubas, eight from Salfit, six from Jericho and nine from the Gaza Strip.

It should be noted that the institutions that published the statistics are the Palestinian Prisoners ' club (semi-official), Al-Addameer prisoner Welfare and human rights (non-governmental), and the Prisoners and Editors ' Affairs Authority (official).

According to the human rights institutions, the number of Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation jails as of November 31 last year was about 5,000 and 700, including 54 women (including a minor girl) and 230 children.

Last month, the occupying authorities issued 104 administrative orders to Palestinian prisoners, of which 25 were new, with the number of administrative detainees reaching 482.

Last month, the Israeli occupation forces arrested two deputies in the Legislative Council, Mohammed Abu Jahesheh from Hebron, and the deputy Ahmed Atoun, who was deported from Jerusalem to the West Bank, and turned them into administrative detention.

The number of deputies held in prison has risen to 6, including three under administrative detention, including Deputy Khalida Jarrar, who was arrested on 2 July July 2017.

After the elections to the Palestinian Legislative Council in 2006, 40 per cent of the deputies were arrested by the occupying authorities and sentenced to administrative detention orders.
