Liquid cocaine found in coconuts in Colombia

Colombian anti-drug investigators have found liquid cocaine inside about 20,000 coconuts destined for export to Europe, the Public Prosecutor's Office announced in a statement Thursday.
The statement said that 19,880 coconuts destined for export were in a container containing 504 canvas bags that were supposed to leave the port of Cartagena for Genoa.
During an inspection, it was found that the coconut water had been replaced with liquid cocaine.
Colombia is a major source of cocaine, ahead of Peru and Bolivia, where the coca plant is also grown. A large proportion of it is smuggled into the United States.
A peace treaty between the government and FARC guerrillas who relied on drug smuggling did not reduce drug smuggling.
