Signing of an agreement to support the Japanese public budget worth 10 million dollars

Palestine, represented by Finance Minister Shukri Bishara, and Japan, represented by its ambassador to Palestine, Magoshi Masayuki, signed today, Sunday, a Japanese support agreement for the public budget worth 10 million dollars, under the patronage and presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh.

The Prime Minister said: “This grant is important to us and will be allocated to support the budget, and it comes in the context of Japan’s continued support for Palestine in order to build the Palestinian institution capable of steadfastness and enhance service to our people, and to advance the institution towards the establishment of our independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and the right of return for refugees.”

Shtayyeh added: “I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to Japan for its support to Palestine, as it is considered one of the most important donor countries, and it is important that what it offers is in line with the Palestinian national priorities. in office.”

For his part, the Japanese ambassador affirmed his country's continued support for the Palestinian people and the government, and continuous joint work with the Palestinian government, civil institutions, municipalities and the private sector, in order to reach the goal of building the institutions of the Palestinian state, continuing to build bridges of cooperation and strengthening the Japanese-Palestinian friendship.
