A stand in Ramallah to demand the return of the bodies of the detained martyrs

Participants in a sit-down organized by the families of the martyrs whose bodies are being held in the occupation's refrigerators and "Numbers Cemetery", in the city of Ramallah, today, Thursday, called on international institutions to intervene in order to release their children for burial according to Islamic law.

The Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Laila Ghannam, confirmed that work is continuing on the file of retrieving the bodies of the martyrs, and stressed the need to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes, most notably the detention of the bodies of the martyrs to avenge them and their families.

In turn, the Secretary of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah Movement, Majid Al-Fatiani, said that our people are exercising their natural right to resist the occupation to gain freedom and independence, calling on the international community to take a stance that punishes the occupation for its continuing crimes against our people.

For his part, the head of the Prisoners Club, Qaddoura Fares, said that efforts have been going on for years to retrieve the bodies of the martyrs, stressing the need to continue these efforts, which resulted in the delivery of dozens of bodies in previous times.

He added that the stand aims to shed light on this issue, and urged all parties to make sufficient efforts that would eventually lead to the formation of a situation of pressure on the occupying power to hand over the detained bodies.

For his part, the head of the Supreme Committee for the Follow-up of Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs, Amin Shoman, said that the file to retrieve the bodies of the detained martyrs will remain open until the families of the martyrs receive the bodies of their children and are buried in a manner worthy of the martyrs of Palestine.
