Netherlands bans fireworks and rockets during New Year´s celebrations

The Dutch authorities decided to ban fireworks and rockets again this year on New Year's Eve due to the risk of infection with the Corona virus, in light of the extremely worsening situation of the Corona virus in the Netherlands.
The interim government took this step on Friday, the Dutch news agency Dutch news agency reported. The sale of fireworks for private use has also been banned, with the aim of relieving already overburdened hospitals, nursing staff and police.
And last year, when fireworks was also banned, the number of people injured by rockets and fireworks who had to go to the hospital or see a doctor fell by 70 percent compared to 2019.
