A group of Palestinian Christian institutions condemned the decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to classify six Palestinian human rights organizations as "terrorist organizations".
Institutions: Young Women’s Christian Association in Palestine, YMCA in Jerusalem, Joint Advocacy Program, Al-Sabil Center, Diyar Group, Bethlehem Bible College, and the Palestinian Christian Initiative “Kairos Palestine” said in a joint statement: “The Palestinian Christian institutions condemn and condemn in the strongest terms. The statement added that the occupation state’s use of its internal political legislation in “fighting terrorism” to criminalize these institutions came after years of its systematic campaign against Palestinian civil society organizations, aimed at silencing their voice and the voice of their supporters from international organizations and coalitions supporting justice and peace.
The statement continued: “This classification targets all Palestinian civil society organizations, especially those concerned with defending Palestinian human rights, documenting violations against them, providing them with legal services, working on international advocacy on their behalf, and urging the countries of the world to ensure the protection of Palestinian rights, and to In particular, their right to self-determination and an end to the Israeli settler colonial occupation, and the apartheid regime against it.”
Palestinian Christian institutions affirmed the illegality of this arbitrary decision, and its dangerous repercussions on civil society and its institutions, women defenders and human rights defenders, calling on states, the international community, partners and donors in general, and churches and international Christian institutions in particular, to reject and condemn this decision, and not to allow the Israeli occupation state to continue These arbitrary, illegal practices and contrary to international laws, and by pressuring them to abolish them, and continuing to support the Palestinians' right to justice, freedom and dignity.
