The occupation authorities force a Jerusalemite to self-demolish his house

Today, Monday, the Israeli occupation authorities forced Ismail Aramin from Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood, north of occupied Jerusalem, to self-demolish his house, in order to avoid the heavy fines he will pay in the event that the occupation forces demolish it under the pretext of building without a permit.

Since the beginning of this year, the region has witnessed an escalation in demolitions of Palestinian homes under the pretext of building without a permit, accompanied by an increase in the risks of forcibly evicting hundreds of Palestinians from homes where they have resided for decades in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan for the benefit of Israeli settlers, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Jerusalem Affairs.

The occupation municipality continues to target Jerusalemites’ homes and facilities, and does not allow them to build or expand, claiming that they do not obtain licenses from it, knowing that it does not easily give them to them, and they are forced to pay hundreds of thousands of shekels to obtain them.

After Al-Maqdisi builds his house, the occupation municipality pursues him by imposing building violations, forcing him to self-demolish, or carrying out the demolition with its own mechanisms in return for a heavy fine imposed on him.
