The United Kingdom announced today an additional donation of 12.6 million pounds sterling to UNRWA, bringing the total support provided by the United Kingdom to the Agency during the financial year (April 2020 - March 2021) to 63.6 million pounds.
The United Kingdom is one of the largest donors to UNRWA during the past period, and will continue to support the Agency in providing education, health services and emergency food to Palestinian refugees in the occupied Palestinian territories, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
In this regard, British Consul General in Jerusalem Philip Hall said: “I am delighted that the UK is able to provide this additional funding to UNRWA to facilitate the Agency’s vital work with Palestinian refugees. The UK has ensured - through UNRWA’s work - that thousands of Palestinian refugees have access to education, health care and supplies. Emergency food, especially during the region's response to the Corona pandemic. ''
