Higher numbers from China ... a year since the emergence of Corona in Israel

Less than a year ago, several days ago, the first patient infected with the Coronavirus arrived in Israel from Italy, and since then the disease began to spread among Israelis, with the emergence of new mutations that caused more infections.

According to a report by the Hebrew Ynet website, the cumulative number of injured people as of this morning reached 712,078, while the deaths reached 5,266 cases, at a rate of 0.74%, which means one death in every 135 patients with corona.

The city of Jerusalem was the most recorded case, with 114,329 cases diagnosed (most of them Haredim), compared to all parts of China where the virus spread, only less than 90,000 cases were diagnosed, while the number of deaths in the city is the highest among Israeli cities, reaching 754 up yesterday.

And it appears from the figures in China, that a cumulative number of injured people was recorded, 89,734, while the number of deaths reached 4,636.

The city of Bnei Brak, which is inhabited by the vast majority of Haredim, came in second place with a diagnosis of 45,054, with more than 20% of its population infected, while 195 died.

While the city of Modiit Illit (which is essentially a settlement described by the Israelis as a city, located near Jerusalem and inhabited by the Haredim as well) came in third place, with the diagnosis of 23,564, about a third of the population, while 18 of them died, partly due to its small area, and it was recorded nearly One in every 6 of the population is affected, as is the case in Bnei Brak.

The city of Ashdod ranked fourth, with 22,144 injuries and 151 deaths, while Tel Aviv ranked the second largest city after Jerusalem, with 21,474 injuries and 265 deaths, and Tikva ranked sixth with 18,269 injuries and 181 deaths.

The city of Beit Shemesh, which came in seventh place, and which is inhabited by the vast majority of Haredim, recorded 18,265 injuries, and 37 deaths.

It was noted that Haifa, the third largest city, ranked eighth with 14,001 injuries and 127 deaths, followed by Netanya in ninth place with 13,080 injuries and 138 deaths.

Betar Illit, which is mainly an Israeli settlement south of Jerusalem and inhabited by a majority of ultra-Orthodox residents, ranked tenth, with 12,183 deaths, at least 15 deaths.

Then came Holon and Rishon LeZion, which are among the cities that rank the fourth and fifth in terms of population, with 11,815 injuries and 136 deaths in Holon, while in Rishon LeZion 11,690 injuries and 124 deaths, followed by Beersheba with 11,485 injuries, and 90 deaths.

El-Ad, which is also inhabited by a majority of Haredim, and it is the only city with a population of less than 50 thousand people, came in the fourteenth place, with 10,720 injuries, and fewer than 15 died in it.

While other cities, including Arab ones, recorded less than 10,000 injuries and fewer than 90 deaths, such as Ashkelon, Ramle, Nazareth, Herzliya and Hadera, while Bat Yam recorded a higher death rate of 169, compared to 7,533 injuries, while 110 died in Ramat Gan.

Some cities also recorded less than 2000 injuries, such as Kiryat Yam, Eilat, Kiryat Bialik, Dimona, Givatayim, Ramat Hasharot, Kiryat Shmona, and other areas in the far north and south.
