US agency forcing Ford to recall 3 million cars

The American Transportation Regulatory Authority has rejected a request from the American company Ford to avoid recalling about three million cars due to defects in the airbags made by Takata.

She added that Ford now has 30 days to present a plan to notify affected car owners and solve problems.

Ford did not immediately comment.

And recall this volume is likely to result in significant costs to the company.

According to the authority, the affected models are "Ford Ranger", Fusion and "Edge" from the years 2006 to 2012, in addition to certain types of cars from the Lincoln and Mercury brands.

Defective Takata airbags have caused problems for the auto industry for years and caused the largest recall of cars in the United States to date.
