Bennett: Jerusalem will not be a common capital and we will not allow it to be divided

TEL Aviv _ Agencies

Israeli Education Minister Nafreet Bennett said Tuesday morning that his party would not allow Jerusalem to be a capital of the Palestinians and would not allow its partition.

Bennett's remarks on the backdrop of Channel 10 last night told US president Donald Trump that he would press Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to move the peace process forward.

In an interview with Israeli Army Radio, Bennett stressed that Israel would not allow any concessions on its sovereignty, stating that Israel had taken years to get rid of Ehud Barak and Ehud Olmert and their proposals to give Palestinians privileges, including taking control of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He stated that he was not against any political negotiations but not at the expense of Israeli territory, he said.
