Eric Blisco, head of the Hollywood studio, died at the age of 95

Austrian-born Eric Blisco, the head of the Hollywood studio, died on Tuesday at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy of Oscar-winning classic films made under his leadership.

His death was confirmed by the Vienna Film Festival's management in Vienna, where he served as honorary president.

The film was born to a Jewish family in Vienna in the name of Eric Pleskov, who fled Nazi rule shortly before World War II, and emigrated to the United States via France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

His career in cinema began after the war, when the US occupation forces sent him to Germany to search for Nazi propaganda films and rebuild Bavaria film studios in Munich.
