Abu Hasna warns of deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip

A spokesman for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), Adnan Abu Hasna, warned of the deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip, describing it as dangerous and tragic in light of the increasing number of people receiving regular assistance from the Agency. Gaza governorates alone.

In an interview with Radio Palestine, Abu Hasna called on Arab countries to speed up their contributions last year in light of the Agency's current deficit of about $ 150 million.

Abu Hasna said that the presence of UNRWA Commissioner-General Pierre Krähenbühl in Gaza is to send a decisive message to the world that UNRWA continues to provide its services and that about 39,000 staff in its various areas of operation continue to work day and night to accomplish their tasks.

UNRWA spokesperson, Adnan Abu Hasna, pointed out that UNRWA has a major challenge to renew the mandate. The first phase is to start the gradual operations on September 1, followed by an urgent meeting at the UN General Assembly in New York, followed by a vote on the mandate in November in the committee. Fourth and then a big vote in early December.
