Israeli army ministers reject Netanyahu´s government

Former Israeli cabinet ministers on Saturday rejected their refusal to participate in a government headed by Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu after the September 17 election.

This came during the participation of Avigdor Lieberman, leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, Moshe Ya'alon of the leaders of the Blue-White Party, and Amir Peretz, leader of the Labor Party, in conferences held in different regions. All of whom served as ministers of the army in successive Netanyahu governments.

Lieberman said in Modi'in's culture that his efforts would focus on forming a broad liberal national government without extreme right-wing parties, noting that he would not accept a government headed by Netanyahu, even if this would guarantee him a rotation with him as prime minister.

He stressed that this position was not a personal matter, but for the public interest. As claimed. Pointing out that he aspires to be prime minister but not at this stage, it represents for him an option and not an obsession, and looks at things realistically and that he needs a sufficient number of seats for that.

The Likud responded to Lieberman by saying that his remarks were intended to distract public opinion from the fact that he intended to recommend the leader of a blue-white party Benny Gantz to head the next government.

For his part, Moshe Ya'alon said during the culture of Ramat Gan that they will support a unity government but not under Netanyahu's leadership, and that this is not a personal matter, but a national one.

He pointed out that their party would not oppose a unity government with the Likud without the Netanyahu presidency, so as not to allow the small parties to blackmail them. Pointing out that Netanyahu's accusations against corruption can not be ignored.

Labor Party leader Amir Peretz said his party would not join a Netanyahu-led government and would not negotiate with him about joining a coalition at all. Pointing out that he will not repeat the same mistakes of the past will not fall into the trap of Netanyahu again.

He said his party would immediately demand that Netanyahu be fired from office if an indictment was filed against him in corruption cases.
