Japan sends fourth shipment of medicines and medical consumables to Gaza

The Government of Japan and the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah today supervised the dispatch of the fourth shipment of medicines and medical consumables to health stores in the Gaza Strip to support hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

Japanese Ambassador to the Palestinian Authority Takeshi Okubo said his country had granted a one million dollar grant to the Ministry of Health this year to provide medicines to treat chronic diseases, as well as cancers and medical consumables for hospitals and clinics in the Gaza Strip.

He added: " We celebrate the dispatch of the fourth and final shipment to the Gaza Strip today and hope that it will help protect the lives of Gazans and provide more opportunities for full recovery from injuries and diseases, as well as give more hope to the people of the Gaza Strip."

The japanese ambassador said the grant came from Japan's deep awareness of the difficulties faced by an important part of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
