The European Union strongly rejects tenders for the construction of settlement units in Jerusalem

The European Union on Saturday rejected Israel's decision to bid for the construction of more than 800 new settlement units in the settlements of Ramot and Pisgat Ze'ev in east Jerusalem.

In a statement issued by the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, the Union considered that Israel's settlement policy undermines the two-state solution.

"The EU will continue to engage in contacts between the parties and its international and regional partners to support the reduction of a meaningful process towards the two-state negotiations," he said.

On Thursday, Israel offered tenders to build 805 settlement units in the settlements.
