Israeli president continues consultations on forming government

Israeli President Reuven Rivlin will continue consultations on forming a new government on Tuesday after meetings he held with senior parties that won the most votes in the elections on Tuesday.

Rivlin received delegations from Likud, Blue, White, Shas, and Yahdut Hatorah, and the Front and Arab Change List, chaired by Ayman Odeh and Ahmed Tibi.

The Likud, Shas and Yahudut Torah recommended that Benjamin Netanyahu be prime minister of the new government, while a blue-white coal coalition recommended its leader Benny Gantz as prime minister.

Today, Rivlin will receive delegations from the Labor and Israel parties, Beit Terena, the Union of Right-Winged Parties, Meretz and the other Arab list represented by the Alignment and the united Arab list.
