International welcome to the Ashtiyya government and affirm the support of Palestine

Prime Minister Mohammed Ashtayeh has received congratulatory messages from high-ranking international leaders and officials to form the 18th government.

He received messages from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Cypriot President Nikos Anastaseadis, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, British Prime Minister Theresa May, French Prime Minister Edward Philippe, Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Prime Minister Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvidik.

The Prime Minister also received telegrams of congratulations from EU High Representative Federica Mugherini, World Economic Forum President Davos Burgh Brind, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay and Islamic Bank Group Chairman Bandar Bin Mohammed Hamza Al Hajjar, The Regional Director of the International Monetary Fund for the Middle East and Central Asia Jihad Azour, and the Director General of the Arab Planning Institute Badr Osman Malallah.

In their letters, the officials welcomed Ashtiyeh's wish to strengthen the relations of cooperation and friendship between their country and Palestine.

For his part, Philippe stressed France's support for Palestine and its support for the aspirations of the Palestinian people to live freely in a sovereign and viable state, in response to the Palestinian leadership's firm commitment to a two-state solution based on agreed international standards.

It also affirmed Britain's commitment to the two-state solution achieved through negotations and its continued support for the efforts to prepare for a sovereign and viable Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with an agreed territorial exchange, Jerusalem as a shared capital and an integral part of Gaza to live in peace and security side by side. With Israel.

In the same context, Mughrini expressed her aspiration to work with Shtia to strengthen cooperation to build the State of Palestine to support efforts to achieve unity and build strong, comprehensive, accountable and democratic institutions based on law and human rights for the benefit of the Palestinians . She also affirmed the European Union's commitment to a just and comprehensive solution to the Israeli conflict Palestinian conflict through a negotiated two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as the future capital of the two states, and a fair, just and agreed solution to the refugee issue.

Ashtiyeh received dozens of congratulatory messages from ambassadors, consuls, parliamentarians, representatives of various Arab and international parties, associations and institutions.

The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East peace process, Nikolai Mladenov, welcomed the government of Ashtayeh in a statement: I congratulate Prime Minister Mohammed Ashtiyeh on forming a new Palestinian government and look forward to working closely with him and his team to improve the economic, humanitarian and social situation of the Palestinian people " .

During the previous period, Shtia welcomed the ambassadors of Jordan and Egypt, Mohammed Abu Wandi and Issam Ashour, who affirmed the support of their countries to the Palestinian people and government, and stressed the need for continued consultation between their countries and Palestine to support the Palestinian people in their quest for their rights.
