Israel raises alert in Golan

 The Israeli army on Saturday raised its alert in the Golan for fear of a major rally after the US announced President Donald Trump's intention to recognize the Golan as part of Israel's sovereignty.

According to Channel 13 Hebrew, the army deployed snipers, and equipped riot gear such as tear gas and rubber bullets, and the deployment of more troops along the border.

Trump is expected to sign on Monday during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on the decision to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan, a decision that has led to Arab and international outrage and rejection.
