Signing an agreement to build 23,000 settlement units in occupied Jerusalem

An agreement to build 23,000 settlement units in Jerusalem over the next five years was signed on Monday, according to Hebrew sources.

According to the site of the seventh Hebrew channel, the agreement signed between the Israeli Ministry of Finance and the so-called Israeli Land Authority and the Israeli occupation in Jerusalem. The agreement was signed in the presence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to the agreement, 23,000 housing units will be built, and NIS 1.5 billion will be invested in infrastructure for the development of the old neighborhoods of Jerusalem and Al Jadida, and the allocation of large land to shops.

"The Jews are building in Jerusalem 3000 years ago, the Jews are building in Jerusalem today, Jerusalem is not a settlement, Jerusalem is the capital of Israel forever, 3000 years is part of our eternal existence," Netanyahu said at the signing ceremony.

Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon said Israel is investing billions annually in Jerusalem, stressing the importance of the agreement signed today on the anniversary of the death of Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin.
