Israeli police investigate criminal suspicions of Naftali Bent´s campaign

 The investigation unit of the Israeli police has investigated suspicions of criminal offenses committed by Naftali Bennett to head the Jewish home in 2012, the Haaretz daily reported Thursday.

According to the newspaper, a number of people associated with the campaign have made their statements in recent months, including the strategic adviser Moshe Klughavt, who directed the campaign showed in the primary against Zvulun Orlev.

The newspaper said that these investigations were not announced, although they have been going on for a very long time. Pointing out that there are likely to lead to an investigation with Bennett under warning.

According to leaked information, the transfer of large sums of money to Bennett's internal campaign in the Jewish home, without being reported to the observer.

After the Knesset elections in 2013, State Comptroller Yosef Shapira imposed a fine of 65,000 shekels on the bill. Accusing him of exceeding the ceiling of the permitted expenses and not including in his accounts all of his expenses or accompanying them with documents.

The law requires competitors in the primaries to report to the state comptroller about the donations they have received and how they are disbursed.
