The Israeli occupation authorities demolished and seized 538 houses and structures in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, in 2018, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Center for Studies and Documentation said on Friday.

The center said that "1,300 displaced citizens were homeless as a result of this demolition, including 225 children, in flagrant violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention and the various laws and international laws."

This came in a special report issued by the Center on Friday on the demolition of Palestinian houses and structures (Harvest 2018), which includes documentation of demolitions and demolition orders.

PCHR continued that the Israeli occupation authorities continued the policy of ethnic cleansing of Palestinian citizens in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, through the policy of demolishing houses, commercial, industrial and agricultural establishments and infrastructure, in order to uproot citizens from their land. In the year 2018, 538 houses and structures (157) homes and 381 establishments in all governorates of the West Bank, an increase of 24% over last year. The demolitions resulted in the displacement of more than 1300 citizens and citizens who became homeless, Including 225 children.

In terms of Hebron governorate, the occupation authorities demolished 31 houses and 49 structures, including 24 houses and a seized facility.

The most prominent demolitions took place in Hebron: the demolition of 24 houses in the communities of Al-Fakhit, Al-Mahalla, Al-Halawa, Jnba, Susiya, Al-Marqa, Khallet al-Mei and Biren, located in the area of ​​Musafer Yatta south of Hebron. In addition, 7 houses were demolished in Beit Kahil, al- Samoua and Khirbat Soba west of Dura.

Demolitions included: Tarqumiya, Beit Ula, Beit Ummar, Halhul, Hebron, Khirbat Zanuta, Al-Dhahiriya, and Umm al-Dabaa and Zuwaydeen communities in Musafer Yatta.

The Israeli occupation authorities have been informed of the demolition of 92 houses and structures in various parts of the Hebron governorate, mostly in the Musafer Yatta communities south of Hebron.

According to the report, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished 11 houses and 34 structures, including 16 houses and an appropriation.

While the Israeli occupation authorities were informed of the demolition of about 78 houses and facilities that were concentrated in the towns of Al Walaja, Nahalin, Bateer, Taqwa and Al Khader.

In the Jenin governorate, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished 9 houses and 25 facilities in 2018, including 6 seized facilities.

The most prominent demolitions took place in the Jenin governorate: 4 homes in Wad Burqin area near the city of Jenin, in addition to demolition of 5 houses in Jenin, Qabatiyeh, Yabad, Barta'a, Khirbet Imrehah, Jalameh, Yamoun, Khirbat Mas'ud and Dhahr al-Maleh.

While the Israeli occupation authorities were notified of the demolition of 18 houses and a facility in Jenin governorate.

In the governorate of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, the Israeli authorities demolished 8 houses and 24 structures. Two houses were demolished in the town of Deir Dibwan and 6 houses in the villages of Kober, Jibiya, Rantis, Al-Bireh and Al-Amari.

As for the Jericho and Al-Aghwar governorates, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished 12 houses and 17 facilities during the year 2018.

In the Nablus governorate, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished 6 houses and 21 structures, including two structures that were seized.

The demolition of three houses in Khirbat al-Mergam of Duma village, the demolition of two homes in the village of Beit Dajan, and another in Khirbat Karziliyeh of 'Aqraba town. Demolitions included the villages of Duma, Froush Beit Dajan and Qasrah.

In the Salfit governorate, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished 8 facilities, including Wadi Qana, Qarawat Bani Hassan and a guard.

In the Qalqiliya and Tulkarm governorates, Israeli occupation forces demolished the house of Ashraf Na'alwa in the Shuweika neighborhood north of Tulkarm. Two buildings were demolished in Qalqilya in 2018, including Azzoun and Kafr Qaddum.

In the meantime, according to the Center's report, the year 2018 witnessed a wave of demolitions that targeted the schools of challenge established by the Palestinian Ministry of Education in marginalized areas and communities, especially those threatened by settlement and deportation.

The Israeli occupation forces demolished the school of the Abu al-Nawar Bedouin village east of Jerusalem, and seized the facilities of the Zanuta Elementary Mixed School near the town of Dahariya, south of Hebron, and demolished it. The Jabal al-Baba kindergarten near the town of Al-Eizariya in Jerusalem Governorate, and the seizure of the premises of Al-Tahadi School (10) located in Khirbet Abzayq in the northern Jordan Valley of Tubas.

The occupation authorities also stopped work and teaching at Al-Tahdai School (12) in the Wadi Salman area of ​​Beit Leqya town, west of Ramallah governorate.

The center noted that these schools are among 44 schools threatened by demolition at any moment under the pretext of non-licensing, 8 of which are located within the Jerusalem Governorate, and 36 schools in the designated areas.
