The Palestine National Council's refugee committee welcomed the decision of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) of the United Nations General Assembly to vote on four resolutions in favor of Palestine, including extending the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). Walid Al-Awad, head of the refugee committee in the National Assembly, considered in a press statement that the vote of 164 countries in favor of a resolution related to UNRWA operations, as well as the vote of 165 countries in favor of the resolution to provide assistance to Palestinian refugees, represents a victory for the rights of refugees and a slap at the same time in the face of all attempts and proposals to liquidate UNRWA. over the past year.

Al-Awad added that the vote of 160 countries in favor of the resolution "the property and revenues of Palestinian refugees" represents a new international affirmation that the issue of Palestinian refugees and their right to return to their homes and properties will remain present with a force that knocks on the doors of the global conscience constantly until the return is achieved.

At the conclusion of its statement, the Refugee Committee of the National Assembly expressed its thanks and appreciation to all the countries that voted in favor of this resolution, calling for this to be translated into practice by providing support to UNRWA so that it can continue its work without hindrances to serve the refugees until they return to their homes by implementing Resolution 194 issued by the United Nations.
