“Hemaya” calls for an international investigation into the assault of an Israeli soldier on a Palestinian detainee

Hemaya Center for Human Rights called on the Human Rights Council to form an independent committee to investigate the assault of an Israeli soldier on a Palestinian detainee.
On Friday, the Human Rights Center said that it gave a lengthy briefing to UN bodies and international figures about the crime of assaulting an Israeli soldier, Oriana Ben Khalifa, on a Palestinian girl after she was arrested, without that girl posing any danger and without any reaction from her.
He stated that the Israeli soldier attacked the Palestinian citizen with insults, reprimands, beatings and kicks, and took off her veil, in the shadow of the astonishment and shock of the imprisoned citizen, who was satisfied with silence.
And he indicated in his message that the international community has approved special protection for civilians, especially those who are arrested by enemy forces, pointing to the most important agreements that stipulate that the dignity and humanity of those who are arrested must be preserved.
“Freedom” said that the soldiers of the Israeli occupation forces, with the support of the highest levels in the occupying country, do not abide by their legal duties as occupying soldiers, and are committing grave violations of the rules of international humanitarian law.
He concluded his letter by calling on the Human Rights Council to form an independent committee to investigate the circumstances of this crime, and to punish anyone found guilty of committing it, especially at a time when the occupation soldiers continue their attacks on Palestinian civilians in the occupied territories, even when they do not pose any danger to them.
