Gaza: Factions hand over to the United Nations a legal memorandum protesting the framework agreement

The Follow-up Committee of the National and Islamic Forces handed over to the United Nations a legal memorandum protesting the framework agreement signed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the United States of America.
This came during a stand organized by the committee in front of the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” in Gaza City, on Monday, in cooperation with the popular activities of the refugees, amid angry chants in support of the refugees, and other banners stressing the refugees’ rights to return to their lands.
The leader of the Popular Front, Maher Mezher, said: "Today we are sending an urgent memorandum on behalf of the Factions Follow-up Committee to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Commissioner-General of UNRWA, that we reject and condemn this malicious agreement that puts the issue of refugees and UNRWA in front of the danger of liquidation."
Mezher explained that "the agreement seeks to remove the political dimension from the refugee issue and turn it into a humanitarian issue, in addition to describing part of the refugees as terrorism and turning UNRWA into a security intelligence company."
He stressed that "the legal memorandum is the beginning and part of a series of continuous activities and activities in all UNRWA regions until the fall of this dangerous agreement."
Mezher called on the “free people of the world” and the countries supporting the rights of our people in the United Nations to clarify the danger of the agreement on the legal status of refugees, and that it is a prelude to ending UNRWA’s role and diverting its course on the path of liquidating refugees.
He called on the official authorities to adopt what was mentioned in the memorandum and mobilize all parties to confront the anti-refugee project under the pretext of support and claiming neutrality, calling on the masses of our people and the people’s committees to engage in continuous activities to topple the agreement.
He added, "We will not rest until the agreement of injustice and persecution is dropped, and UNRWA should give positive signals that it will continue to shoulder its responsibilities in serving and employing refugees until they return to their homes from which they were displaced."
At the end of the event, the factions and national forces handed over the legal memorandum to the United Nations Office.
The memorandum includes issues, details and figures related to the right of our people to return home, and the reasons for demanding the cancellation of the framework agreement.
