Six prisoners are continuing their open hunger strike in the Israeli occupation prisons, in refusal of their administrative detention.
The Prisoners Club clarified in a press statement, today, Sunday, that the striking prisoners are: Kayed al-Fosfous, 32, from Dura, south of Hebron, who continues his strike for the 53rd day in a row, and Miqdad al-Qawasmeh, 24, from Hebron, a striker. For the 46th day, Alaa Al-Araj (34 years) from Tulkarm is on strike for the 28th day, the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash from Hebron for the 20th day, Raik Bisharat for the 15th day, and Shadi Abu Aker for the 12th day, respectively.

The Prisoner Club held the occupation fully responsible for the fate of the striking prisoners, and called on all the competent authorities, headed by the Red Cross, to assume their responsibilities in following up on the strikers’ cases, and to make the necessary effort to reassure their families in light of the prison administration’s continued obstruction of their visit, and the creation of more isolation tools against them.
It is noteworthy that the number of administrative prisoners reached about 550, including the captive Bushra al-Taweel, and four children.
The following is a profile of the striking prisoners: 1. Phosphorous prisoner, a former prisoner who was arrested several times, and his last arrest was in July 2020. 4. The prisoner Abu Hawash (39 years), from Dura / Hebron, has been detained since October 2020, and two administrative detention orders were issued against him for a period of 6 months. He is a former prisoner who spent a total of 8 years, married and father of four children.
5. The prisoner Bisharat (44 years), from Tubas, is a former prisoner whose hands were amputated in 2002, his wife was martyred, his son was injured, he was chased and arrested in 2003, and the occupation sentenced him to 9 years in prison, and he was released in 2012.
On July 23, 2021, the occupation re-arrested him administratively, and issued an administrative detention order against him for a period of three months, knowing that he suffers from many health problems.
6. The prisoner Abu Akar (37 years), from Aida camp, is a former prisoner, who was re-arrested by the occupation in October 2020, married and father of two children. Previously, he spent ten years continuously, and was released in 2012, and later the occupation re-arrested him administratively three times.
