Facebook employees spying on your own publications

Facebook is hiring employees in India to read leaflets from users on its social network and its photo sharing service to label and catalog publications to improve its artificial intelligence capabilities.

To train program algorithms to understand content, samples of data must be analyzed, all of which need to be labeled and categorized by humans, a process known as "data explanation".

Facebook has 260 employees to explain and classify publications according to five categories, such as the content of the publication (personal photo or picture of the food), the occasion (birthday or wedding), the publisher´s intention (to publish,).

Staff should explain and categorize a set of content from both Facebook and Instagram, including status updates, videos, photos, links, and stories, with each part of the content checked by two staff members to make sure the results are accurate. The staff works on approximately 700 items per day.
