11 prisoners in the occupation prisons continue their hunger strike

The Prisoners’ Club confirmed that 11 prisoners in the prisons of the “Desert Negev”, “Raymond” and “Ofer”, continue their hunger strike in protest of their administrative detention. They are: Muhammad Al-Zoghair, Salem Zaidat, Muhammad Omar and Mujahid. Hamed, Muntasir Billah Abu Azum, all of them are languishing in the “Negev,” and five others are in the cells of “Raymon” prison: Mahmoud al-Fasfous, his brother Kayed, Raafat al-Darawish, Guevara al-Namoura, and Muayyad al-Khatib in addition to Nidal Khalaf, who is in “Ofer.”

The Prisoner Club indicated that the prisoner Muhammad Al-Zughair (34 years), from Hebron, has been on strike for seven days, and this is the second strike he has been waging during his last detention period since April 2020, and the occupation has issued five administrative detention orders against him, between four and three months. .

Also, the prisoner Salem Zaidat (40 years), from the town of Bani Naim / Hebron, has continued his hunger strike for seven days. After he had served the period of detention, the occupation turned him into administrative detention, and issued five orders against him, lasting between 3 and 4 months, and he is a former prisoner who spent about two years in the occupation prisons. Four days ago, five prisoners in “Raymond” prison began their hunger strike: Mahmoud Al-Fasfous (30 years), from Dura / Hebron, was arrested several times previously since he was a child, and spent years in the occupation’s prisons, the occupation re-arrested him administratively in July 2020, Also, his brother Kayed (32 years old), is a former prisoner who was arrested several times, and his last arrest was in July 2020, shortly after his brother’s arrest. He is married and the father of a child. Months.

The prisoner Raafat Al-Darawish (28 years old), from Dura / Hebron, continues his strike for the fourth consecutive day. He is a former prisoner who was arrested several times, and his current detention was in October 2020. He is married and has a son, and he suffers from chest problems.

Among the strikers four days ago is the prisoner Guevara Al-Namoura (28 years), a player in the Palestinian national team, who was arrested by the occupation in October 2020. This is the second arrest he is being subjected to. He is married and has a son. He is a former prisoner who was arrested several times, and he is also the brother of the martyr of the prisoner movement, Daoud al-Khatib.

According to the family of the prisoner, Nidal Mufleh Khalaf, 49, from Nablus, confirmed that he began a hunger strike several days ago, in refusal to continue his administrative detention since December 2020, and he is a former prisoner who spent years in the prisons of the occupation, and is married and the father of three children. Brother of the prisoner, Munther Mufleh, who is sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Today, the prisoner Al-Muntasir Billah Abu Azum (36 years), from Jericho, started an open hunger strike to reject his administrative detention. He is a former prisoner who was arrested several times, and his current detention was in April 2021, and he is married and the father of three children.

It is noteworthy that individual strikes rejecting administrative detention are continuing, due to the escalation of the occupation authorities’ policy of administrative detention, specifically since last May, knowing that the majority of administrative prisoners are former prisoners who spent years in the prisons of the occupation.

The number of administrative prisoners in the occupation prisons is about 540.
