The "Global movement " for the Defence of Children (Palestine Branch) reported that since the beginning of this year, the Israeli occupying forces have killed 52 children in the West Bank and Gaza Strip; 46 of them in the sector.

The world Movement said in a statement on Monday that among the children killed by the occupying forces 18 were their head injuries, 9 in the chest, 7 in the abdominal area and 5 in the neck.

She added that the rest of the injuries were in different areas of the body (fragments), "which indicates that the occupation soldiers deliberately shoot the upper areas of the body with intent to kill."

The occupying forces continued to use excessive force and live bullets against Palestinian children by deliberately targeting them.

The global movement considered that the reason for the use of excessive force was the spread of a culture of impunity among Israeli occupation soldiers and their prior knowledge that they would not be held accountable for their actions, no matter what the outcome.

According to the regulations of the Special Occupation army, live ammunition must be used only in circumstances that posed a direct lethal threat to the soldier, indicating that so far there was no evidence to suggest that children who had been martyred by live bullets since the beginning of 2018 had posed such a threat at the time of their shooting.

It is worth mentioning that it falls on Tuesday, November 20, World children´s Day. The Declaration on the Rights of the Child was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 20 November 1959.

On the same day of 1989, the General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child and, since 1990, World Children´s Day marks the date on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration and Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Since 2000, the Israeli occupying forces, security guards and settlers have killed more than 2070 Palestinian children, according to the international Movement for the Defence of Children (DCI) documents.

Israel is also still the only state in the world to systematically try between 500 and 700 Palestinian children in military courts every year, in a way that lacks basic rights to a fair trial.
