UNRWA Commissioner-General: We will not be able to complete our work in Gaza without securing fuel

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that the agency will not be able to complete its work in the Gaza Strip without securing fuel.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini added during a press conference held today, Friday, that we need a continuous and uninterrupted flow of aid, stressing that “the few trucks that arrive in the Strip will not make a difference to the residents.”

He noted that "fifty-seven UNRWA employees were killed as a result of the aggression against Gaza," calling for "the protection of civilians and hospitals during attacks."

Lazzarini stressed that it is not possible to “equate between the residents of Gaza and Hamas, and this is misleading, and it is not possible to turn a blind eye to the human tragedy in Gaza,” noting that “postponing the end of this war will increase the risk of the conflict expanding.”

The occupying state continues to prevent water, medicine, and food from the Gaza Strip, and Israeli aircraft launch continuous raids targeting towers and residential buildings, destroying them on top of their residents, leading to the martyrdom and injury of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women.
