The Red Crescent appeals to ensure safe access to the wounded and martyrs in Gaza and the north

On Monday, the Palestine Red Crescent Society appealed to the international community to ensure safe access to the wounded and martyrs in Gaza and the north.

The association said in a statement: By calling the emergency number 101, it received hundreds of calls from citizens besieged in Gaza City, calling on ambulance crews to transport the wounded and martyrs, and to help evacuate families stuck in their homes under the impact of continuous bombardment without having the minimum necessities of life, including food. And water.

She stated that many calls reported the presence of large numbers of people trapped under the rubble and dozens of wounded people in need of emergency health care, while none of the civil defense teams or ambulances were able to reach them.

The occupation forces continue their incursion into the Gaza and northern governorates, preventing ambulances from approaching the sites of incursions and their surroundings, and targeting anyone who tries to move there, which led to a large number of bodies lying on the road, and none of the crews were able to recover them.

The association explained that the areas where military operations are conducted and access to which is prohibited are located in the area of western Gaza, the southern sands, and part of the sands (north), and include the following sites:

• From west of Beit Lahia to the north, passing through the Beach Camp, the port area, Ansar Roundabout, Haidar Roundabout, the Chalets area, Sheikh Ejlin, and Al-Bahr Street, until the Netzarim Junction.

• Al-Tawam and Al-Karama area, Al-Mukhabarat Street, Bahloul, Al-Nasr Street from beginning to end, Al-Fayrouz Towers area, the Eastern Beach area, Al-Shifa Tower, Aidiya Street, the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital, and the UNDP building.

• The Tal Al-Hawa area, the universities, the Unknown Soldier, restaurants, the family bakery, the vicinity of the Palestine Stadium, and near the Suwaydi Al-Nasr Clinic, Al-Nasr Hospital, Al-Rantisi Hospital, and Al-Oyoun Street (middle of the street).

• Al-Rimal neighborhood, the entire perimeter or square of Al-Shifa.

• Abu Hasira Street, Al-Nasr Street, Al-Jazeera Street.

It warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza and the north has deteriorated tragically, and civilians in these areas are almost deprived of emergency health care services due to the inability of ambulances to reach the injured, in addition to depriving citizens of health care services in hospitals that have become besieged or out of service, as There are only three hospitals left in the two aforementioned governorates, providing services amid scarcity of resources, medical supplies, medicines, and fuel.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society appealed to the international community and partners in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement to intervene urgently in order to secure the safe access of ambulances and their crews in accordance with international humanitarian law, so that they and other ambulance and emergency service providers in the Gaza Strip can carry out their life-saving missions.

On the other hand, the association said: Its evacuation convoy, accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross, returned after setting off today from Khan Yunis towards Al-Quds Hospital.

She stated that the convoy was forced to return due to the dangerous conditions in the Tal al-Hawa area, where the hospital is located, amid continuing shelling and shooting, and the medical staff, patients and their companions are still trapped inside the hospital without food, water or electricity.
