The Egyptian Red Crescent announced today (Monday) sending 89 humanitarian aid trucks to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing, and opening the crossing to receive injured Palestinians and dual nationals.
Dr. Khaled Zayed, head of the Egyptian Red Crescent branch in North Sinai Governorate, told Xinhua News Agency that this morning, the Red Crescent sent the twenty-first batch of Palestinian aid through the Rafah crossing, consisting of 89 trucks of medical aid, baby milk, mineral water, tents, and food.
Zayed added that Egypt also received today the Turkish aid ship through the Al-Arish sea port, which carries on board 8 integrated field hospitals equipped with operating rooms and intensive care units, in addition to 20 equipped ambulances, 15 power generators, and quantities of medicines and medical supplies for operating field hospitals.
Today, the Egyptian authorities continued to reopen the Rafah land crossing to receive the wounded and sick from the Gaza Strip, their companions, and those holding dual nationalities.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Rafah land crossing witnessed the crossing of 826 people with dual nationalities, in addition to the entry of 4 wounded Palestinians for treatment in Egyptian hospitals, accompanied by two Palestinian companions, and 9 patients accompanied by 9 companions, and they were directed to Al-Arish Hospital to receive treatment.
According to Egyptian sources at the Rafah border crossing, the Egyptian authorities received two buses so far this morning carrying dual nationalities, and the wounded in the Gaza Strip are being received today.
For his part, an official at the Palestinian Rafah crossing explained to ((Xinhua)) that the small number of wounded Palestinians crossing into Egypt through the Rafah crossing is due to the Israeli bombing, the targeting of mobile ambulances, and the difficulty of the wounded reaching the Rafah crossing due to the siege of Palestinian hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, which hinders the transfer of The wounded returned to Egypt and their numbers declined.
The government media office in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll of Palestinians had risen to 11,180 as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since the seventh of last October, including 4,609 children and 3,100 women, while more than 28,000 others were injured.
