Ambassador Muhammad Al-Emadi, head of the Qatar National Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, announced today that the committee, in coordination with the Qatar Fund for Development, supported the health sector in Gaza with an advanced device to examine samples of the Corona-Covid 19 virus.
Ambassador Al-Emadi explained that the cost of the new device, which was introduced for the first time to the Gaza Strip, in addition to providing about 20 thousand swabs needed to examine citizens, amounted to about $ 150,000.
He pointed out that the provision of the new device will contribute greatly to solving the crisis of the accumulated examinations at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, indicating that its provision came in response to the ministry´s repeated calls and to contribute to curbing the spread of the virus.
Al-Emadi stressed that the State of Qatar continues to provide all forms of support to the residents of the Gaza Strip in various sectors, calling on the international community and donor countries to provide the necessary and urgent aid to the residents of the Strip to face the humanitarian crises they are experiencing.
