Gaza: One death and 44 cases of corona within 24 hours

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced, this morning, Tuesday, that it had recorded a death and 44 new cases of Coronavirus during the past 24 hours.

The ministry stated in its daily report that the citizen Samir Abdul Rahman Al-Khatib (57 years) died in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital before being transferred to the Epidemiology Hospital, indicating that he was suffering from advanced and critical cancer.

It indicated that 4 recoveries of those infected with the virus were recorded.

She pointed out that the number of new samples that were examined amounted to 1078 samples.

According to the ministry, the total number of injured people since last March is 400, including 319 active cases (286 from inside Gaza, 33 from returnees), 76 recovering cases, and 5 deaths (4 from inside the Gaza Strip and one case from returnees).

The ministry stated that among the 319 active cases, two were in a critical condition, and 20 were moderate to severe injuries.

She indicated that the competent medical teams are still conducting epidemiological investigations and following up on the contact map in different regions.

"We are still in the stage of containing the epidemic and breaking the cycles of its outbreak, and this stage is sensitive and requires preventing movement, except for the most urgent necessity and in accordance with strict preventive measures," she said.
