The Palestinian Authority´s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday condemned Israel´s "displacement" policy against residents of the Gaza Strip.
The ministry said in a statement that it "considers very seriously the statements of the Hebrew media to the statements of a senior Israeli source that Israel has worked to encourage the migration of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other countries."
She added that the Israeli government "bears full and direct responsibility for the suffering of our people in the Gaza Strip as a result of the unjust siege, the continuous aggression and the heinous crimes committed daily, targeting the constraints of the lives of the population and restricting them to push them to emigrate."
The ministry stressed that "violations of the occupation amount to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity, which calls for an international awakening to reject these calls and not to respond and condemn, and the speed of international action to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip."
The Israeli public radio quoted an Israeli political source as saying today that Israel has proposed to several countries to absorb Palestinians who want to emigrate from the Gaza Strip without return.
The source said that Israel is ready to finance these flights to be launched from airports in the south of its territory, but said that none of the countries contacted, including Middle Eastern countries did not respond to this proposal positively.
In the meantime, Palestinian lawyers demanded an immediate international action to lift the siege imposed on Israel and the "collective punishment" imposed on Gaza residents.
The demonstrators, wearing uniforms of lawyers, opposite the Israeli "Beit Hanoun / Erez" checkpoint in the northern Gaza Strip at the invitation of the marches of return.
"Israel imposes restrictions on the free movement of people and goods to and from the Gaza Strip, causing further deterioration of the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of the population," lawyer Ali Muhanna said in a speech at the Gaza Bar Association.
"The objective of Israel´s policies is to institutionalize the blockade of the Gaza Strip and make it internationally acceptable," Muhanna said. "This means its success in circumventing the rules of international law, including international humanitarian law and international human rights law."
He called on the international community and all international organizations to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and to intervene immediately and urgently to end the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
