The Palestinian Authority calls for an international intervention to prevent the occupation from demolishing a school

 Today, Thursday, the Prime Minister´s Office in the Palestinian Authority called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to intervene to stop the threat of the occupation demolishing the Ras al-Tin school, east of Ramallah, which is liable to be demolished after the Israeli Civil Administration managed to cancel a judicial order preventing this .

The Prime Minister’s Office stated, in a statement, that the school’s demolition is a target for donor countries ’efforts to build Palestinian institutions and provide infrastructure to serve the Palestinian community, noting that the school, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Education, was recently built with joint funding from France, Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, Ireland, Spain, the United Kingdom and Sweden. .

 The school serves 50 students from first to sixth grades in the Bedouin "Ras al-Tin" Bedouin community, classified in Area C, and consists of 35 families living on private land rented from Palestinian families in the nearby villages of Kafr Malik and Al Mughayir .

On September 20, 420,000 students enrolled in their grades from the fifth to eleventh grades in public, private and UNRWA schools, in all governorates of the West Bank.

The school year began in the West Bank, on September 6, with teaching students in grades one to four, who are estimated at 300,000 students, and who receive their education according to the blended education system, which combines face and distance learning, with commitment With hygienic measures to prevent the "Corona" virus.

Work hours were distributed equally among the days of the week, as half of the students attend Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, while the other half of students attend Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Ministry of Education in Ramallah had approved a gradual return to schools, according to a health protocol to prevent the spread of the Corona pandemic.
