An-Najah National University has achieved a new achievement to be added to a series of successive achievements at the regional and global levels, by advancing in the Times World University Rankings 2022 THE - Asia University Rankings issued by the British Times Higher Education Institution.
An-Najah University was the only Palestinian university that succeeded in entering this classification and achieving all the required criteria, among several Palestinian universities that sought to enter this classification, and the university ranked 89th at the level of Asian universities out of 616 universities spread over 31 countries in the continent.
In its assessment of universities, this ranking is based on a set of performance indicators within five main areas: teaching (learning environment), research (volume, income and reputation), citations (research impact), international outlook (staff, students and research), and industry income (knowledge transfer). ).
These classifications are very important for universities globally, because they give a standard assessment of the university´s position among international universities within the framework of clear determinants, and contribute to improving the local and international reputation of universities, and are used by some governments to guide higher education policy.
The rankings also direct universities to reconsider education policies, reorient them to suit the labor market, improve the educational environment, enhance the fields of scientific research, and seek academic and research partnerships with prestigious international universities, which enhances their academic and operational reputation locally, regionally and internationally.
The classifications also contribute to enabling new students who are about to register in universities to choose the specializations offered by the best ranked universities. Refereed scientific research, providing consultations, community service, winning scientific awards, and attracting many international partnerships and investments to support its scientific activities.
In addition, it contributes to attracting researchers and scientific competencies who are looking for educational institutions with a global reputation and a good rating, and works to attract the best international students to join its programs.
