The well-known American director and actor Mark Ruffalo, the hero of the movie The Green Man, has promoted the campaign on his Twitter account, calling on his followers to adopt it. He also called on PayPal to provide the service in the Palestinian territories.
Ruffalo published his tweet with a link to the petition, calling on the company to make its services available in the West Bank and Gaza Strip regions.
He said: PayPal operates in illegal Israeli settlements but refuses to provide services to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, in direct violation of United Nations guidelines.
More than 220,000 people, mostly from the United States, signed a petition calling for the American company "Paypal" to provide its services in the Palestinian territories and to stop it in the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
The petition, which continues to be widely signed, demands the company´s management to stop discriminating against Palestinians, and says: Palestinians who are self-employed online face the problem that they cannot get paid because the largest online payment platform in the world is PayPal, It will not serve the Palestinians living in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
She considered it clear discrimination, as Israelis living in illegal settlements in the same locations are allowed to create accounts and receive their money through the same company, stressing that it is time to join the tens of thousands of members who have signed on.
