Arab Parliament: The international community must assume its responsibilities to restore the rights of the Palestinians

On the 55th anniversary of the setback, the Arab Parliament stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities to end the Arab-Israeli conflict, by adhering to the "two-state solution", leading to the restoration of the Palestinian people´s full rights, foremost of which is the right of return and self-determination. The right to establish an independent Palestinian state on all of its lands, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Arab Parliament called on the international community to provide protection to the Palestinian people and support their legitimate rights in accordance with the rules of international law, international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, as well as to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for the crimes it committed against the Palestinian people.

He pointed out that the anniversary of the setback this year coincides with the Israeli escalation on the city of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the desecration of Islamic and Christian sanctities, the escalation of the pace of settlement through forced displacement, the isolation of cities, the demolition of homes, and the expulsion of citizens.
