The Israeli occupation authorities on Tuesday released a Palestinian prisoner from the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip after an 18-year detention.
Abed arrived at the Erez checkpoint, where he was received by a large number of citizens who celebrated his release.
Abed was arrested in 2001 during an operation by the Israeli army for allegedly participating in the attacks of the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000.
