The Israeli and British foreign ministers discuss Iranian activities and peace in the Middle East

Today, Tuesday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi received his British counterpart Dominic Raab, as part of his visit that also includes the Palestinian territories.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Ashkenazi stressed, "It is imperative not to be satisfied with words in dealing with Iranian activities in the region, but to take steps on the ground."

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation quoted him as saying: "The peace agreement signed between Israel and the UAE proves that peace can be achieved through dialogue."

For his part, Raab wrote on Twitter that he discussed with Ashkenazi "the importance of normalization between the UAE and Israel, and efforts towards a broader peace in the Middle East."

The British government said, in a statement yesterday, that Raab will press during his visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories "to resume negotiations between the two sides and affirm Britain´s commitment to prevent annexation of Palestinian lands, and to seek a solution to the conflict according to a negotiated solution to the establishment of two states."
