The Guardian: Brist will turn Britain into a mere "spectator " of global politics

The British newspaper, The Guardian, in its issue Saturday warned of weakening the UK´s role in global politics as one of the repercussions of the country´s departure from the European Union (pretext), saying that Britain would be transformed into a mere "spectator" on the international scene.

"The most influential international players will be those who can move on continental scales such as China, the United States, the European Union and India, and then the question will arise as to how much freedom other countries can have under these great powers," the paper said.

"While in the past we played an important role in the international debate, we will be a mere spectator in the future," she said.

The newspaper found that the United Kingdom had excluded itself from the possibility of exerting a great degree of influence and reduced its ability to impose its vision at the international level.

"Perhaps many voters are willing to do so, or at least they are willing to accept it as a price for their country´s departure from the European Union," the paper said, noting that it is difficult to judge because such a question has not been so clearly addressed to them.

British Prime Minister Teresa Mae will again meet with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels on Tuesday to review the current situation of brikist.

According to the paper, the Brussels meeting will only be limited to what Mai has reached in its negotiations with the European Union, but more attention needs to be given to the question of what future UK prime ministers could achieve after Mai relinquished the British seat at the summit.
