A young man was shot dead by Israeli occupation police near Bab al-Amud in Jerusalem on Tuesday evening.
The Israeli occupation police said in a statement that a Palestinian was "killed Tuesday near the Old City of Jerusalem after he tried to launch a knife attack," AFP reported.
For its part, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced that it had been informed of the incident and that the Palestinian youth had been shot dead.
Local Palestinian sources indicated that the Israeli occupation forces carried out searches and arrests of many citizens in the vicinity of the Old City of Jerusalem, particularly in the Bab al-Amud area, where the young man was shot.
