The Chinese city of Harbin hosts the international snow sculptures competition

Artists from all over the world are preparing shovels and cutlery to cut snow when participating in the snow sculptures competition in Harbin, capital of northeast China´s Heilongjiang Province.

 

The international competition for the sculpture of snow represented the eight, 64 artists from 12 countries, where each of the 16 teams are asked to create their sculptures using no more than 10 pieces of snow.

 

Competitors are inspired by their own culture. The joint team of Egypt and Poland, for example, makes its sculptures inspired by ancient Egyptian legends.

 

The results are due to be announced on Friday, and all competing entries will be presented at the Harbin Ice and Snow World, a tourist park featuring snow and ice sculptures.
